Questionnaires are one way in which the Statistical Working System collects statistics. Differently from other data collection mechanisms in the system, questionnaires are:

  • push-based: _statistics are provided to the system rather than fetched by it.

  • interactive: statistics are collected through forms, not APIs.

Indeed, from the perspective of the system, questionnaires are best understood as external data entry forms over its multidimensional datasets. Furthermore, they are:

  • automatically generated by the system.

  • automatically reingested in the system.

It is this tight integration with the system that distinguishes SWS Questionnaires from other types of questionnaires used in statistical domains.

In this document, we discuss:

  • the concepts and processes that fall in the broad scope of questionnaire management.

  • the extent to which the current system models those concepts and supports those processes.

  • our plans to extend models and support for processes in future versions of the system.
